The CBT triangle: thought, feeling, behaviour
Educational only. This article explains a concept. It is not therapy, diagnosis, or personal advice.
Your thoughts, feelings, and what you do are connected
Change one, and the others often shift too. That is the CBT triangle in one sentence.
The loop, step by step
A thought like “I will mess this up” can bring a feeling like anxiety. That feeling can change behaviour — like avoiding preparing, or avoiding the task altogether. And that avoidance can then feed the original thought back again.
The educational point
It is not to force positive thinking. It is to notice the link: thought, feeling, behaviour, and how each one affects the next.
Try noticing it once today
What thought came first, what feeling followed, and what did you do next? Noticing once, clearly, is more useful than trying to fix everything at once.
